Hello,you should know two points. First, most of carbon products after cabonization has three portion with different ratios (amorphous, turbostratic and graphitic carbons) Second, lots of "all-organic" precursors are available to get graphitic carbons via carbonization, I suggest you to do search for graphitizable carbons (for example poly acrylo nitrile PAN) in which the precursor convert into graphitic carbon(but not totally graphitic carbons) while there are non-graphitizable carbons or charing carbons which has very low carbon yield (for example poly styrene PS).Moreover, if you want to increase the graphitic carbon portion in the produced carbons (from a graphitizable carbon ) I suggest you to increase the carboniztion temperature upto 1000 C or more.

It is interesting Arul, One thing you should keep in mind to char a material, the low temperature charring leads to non-graphitic carbon (with minimum graphitic domain). however, if u pyrolysed at above 1300 C you may end-up with increased graphitic domain. At high temperature some of the graphene like carbon layers tend to stack by the thermal event.

What I think from your comments:- where aliphatic or aromatic, whatever the organic compounds carbonized at high temperature, if we get some residue. If this residue shows graphitic behavior in characterization, that is graphitic carbon yielding carbon. Is it right? Can you give some reference paper or example related with amorphous, turbostratic and graphitic carbon yield.
