I want to work on the issue of teacher identity and teaching styles and preferences. I am not sure whether I have to look for information on teacher autonomy too. I need some help and suggestions.
"Autonomy" means independence, such as the ability of the teacher to make decisions about their classes and instructional designs without interference from superiors.
"Teacher identity" is harder to define, but I would say that it has to do with their personality, how their interact with students and colleagues, scholarly work, and other things related to the teacher's personal "brand."
Whether the teacher has autonomy may be a PART is teacher identity, but the two terms do not mean the same thing.
