I wondered if pregabalin is associated with aggression when prescribed for OCD. If yes, in what doses; and does such aggression that may occur tend to diminish over time when taking this medication?
Here is a link to an article on the use of pregabalin in OCD:
Int Clin Psychopharmacol. 2011 Jul;26(4):221-4. doi: 10.1097/YIC.0b013e3283466657. Pregabalin augmentation in treatment-resistant obsessive-compulsive disorder. Oulis P1, Mourikis I, Konstantakopoulos G.
As for aggression as a side effect, I have heard irritability mentioned in this context. You ca also see the following web page for more information on side effects of pregabalin in general:
A possible augmentation therapy for treatment resistent OCD disorder is wellcome, since the disorder is so difficult to treat and so impairing. So I think that I will try to use pregabalin for this purpose. About the risk of aggression, it does not seems intuitive to understand, and it could open the way to very interesting biological models of OCD.
