Hi, what do you mean exactly by "mathematically consistent" ? Mathematics are used to model physical phenomenom usually (ODE, PDE, etc..). In some particular fields like cosmology, mathematics are even used to try to build new theories.

Mathematics is the language of science. In particular, physics.
For example, if the physicists invent some model to describe the expanding universe theorem, or the big bang, this model is mathematically consistent with the proposed axioms.
Of course, different axioms produce different models but all are mathematically consistent with the original assumptions.
You may say that some model is not correct, in fact, this is equivalent to say some of the assumptions is wrong but not the used mathematical model.
“As far as the laws of mathematics refer to reality, they are not certain, and as far as they are certain, they do not refer to reality.” Albert Einstein
Dear, Abhay Padsala depending on the observations and measuring instruments that are appropriate, in the future physics will clearly continue to develop, developing on objects that are being observed and measured. if you have to make it mathematically. if it is made mathematically it sometimes has to use assumptions.
