Security is a main concern of WSN, and there are high chances of getting heterogeneous sensor nodes in a network, is maximum security achievable in heterogeneous sensor network? Because, each heterogeneous node has its own security technique.
Depends on what do you mean by security. You can achieve a safe message exchange and you can achieve propose a framework or even an IDS (see DISSN for shared sensor networks). But as far as i know you should also care about the delpoyed software in each node and how each node interpret data and instructions. There can be vulnerabilities.
When compared to homogeneous network, security can be improved in heterogeneous network. Please refer to trade-offs between security and energy and how network lifetime is more with heterogeneous network.
Agree with all. The current cyberspace by its nature is heterogeneous and very complex. To build a proper security it is essential to establish the perimeter and metrics to make sure that you deliver security level that is expected and planed for.
