Many authors wrote that mangrove forest/ecosystem is an unique ecosystem. I am confused with these. This is because each and every type of forest/ecosystem has some special characteristics. That is why from the ecological point of view, each type is unique. I would be happy if anybody help me to understand this issue.

I support your view that every types of species/ecosystems have its own uniqueness, by the way, I have read this blog, and i found may be the unique of Mangrove ecosystem is based on following facts:

I agree with you and responses, all ecosystems are in some way(s) unique. Perhaps the word "unique" is not the best choice of words, but generally conveys the intent to some degree that these ecosystems when compared to other world ecosystems are distinctive, rare, unusual, critical and may support diverse and as well habitats for endangered species in some circumstances.
I agree with all responses, here unique is used just like to mean characteristics.
Yes, unique in that the composition of the ecosystem is completely different from what can be found in other ecosystems. But, I would imagine all ecosystems are different from one another, depending on what you are looking at.
