As mixing can be achieved by both horizontal as well as end-over-end agitator. To perform TCLP and SPLP (as per SW-846 method 1311 and 1312), in absence of end-over-end agitator, is it acceptable to use horizontal shaker for experiments?

I"ve been using end-over-end agitator for many years it works fine, but I had never determine the differences in concentration of all element in both methods of agitation. For potassium and phosphorus there were no differences in the same time of shaking (Egner - Rhiem method, available forms) for both horizontal as well as end-over-end agitator.

Yes, it should be fine. you may have to increase the rpm on the horizontal shaker to get maximum agitation.
