FSW or FSP is a good way but if you want to make a composite or nanocomposite just on your matrix(aluminium alloy) surface. but if you want to have a composite with a deep dispersion on your matrix, you can use hot press or some think like that: two layer of matrix and on layer of rainforce material should be sandwiched together.
Hi Prakasam, Yes is possible, there are some publications of these type of composites using Accumulative Roll Bonding. Probably could be an option, but depends of you objectives, aims, etc..

If you mix the aluminium powder with the ceramic powder, press them to get a sheet and after heat them near the melting point of Al, this way you can get a thin sheet of the compound material. I have done it in the lab
