In general we use I-H model fitting to estimate energy transfer between two rare earth ions.my question is can we apply same to energy transfer between rare earth and transition metal oxide ion?any other methods
One of the common method to energy trasfer (ET) determining is to compare the PL decay time for a donor in the absence (tau1) and in the presence (tau2) of acceptor according to the following equation:
ET=(tau1-tau2)/tau1
Another approach is to compare the integral PL intensity of donor in the absence and in the presence of acceptor. The relative decrease in the PL intensity for donor in general should correspond to the ET. This method has less accuracy than the previous one but it's possible to determine the trend of changes in ET, for example, with a change in the acceptor's concentration.
