Hi

I am using piezoelectric film and piezoelectric cables for various applications. It would be advantageous for me to be able to 'turn off' the piezoelectric effect or greatly reduce this effect in parts of the film or cable without having to take apart the film or cable and remove the piezoelectric material.

It is known that piezofilm ages at high temperature. This reduces the piezoelectric effect but not so much that it can be ignored.

I have asked the manufacturer R&D if there is any other way to achieve this effect and currently the answer is no, at least not with a great reduction in sensitivity - which is why I am reaching out to the Research Gate community to ask if anyone knowns how to do this or has an idea worth trying.

To repeat, the objective is to be able to locally turn off or greatly reduce the piezoelectric effect in the film/cable without destroying the sensor package, i.e. without destroying the piezofilm sheet or cable outer sheet.

I enclose a link to an example product datasheet for the curious mind.
