One type of psychological test that is often used to assess the personality type and mental integrity of individuals involves answering a list of questions. The questions are of two main types:

1. Questions that reveal what the subject believes to be true of him/herself.

2. Questions that reveal what the subject thinks other people believe to be true about him/herself.

The questions are worded and arranged in such a way that the fact that there are two sets of themed questions is not apparent to the subject.

If there is a significant discrepancy between the answers of these two sets of questions it is often an indicator of psychological problems.

Can a similar technique be used to assess the psychological health of a nation or culture? What sources could be used to substitute for the two sets of questions and their answers?
