Hi, I'm trying to calculate sea salt and non sea salt fraction from water soluble ion data (anion and cation). I calculate sea salt fraction by using using ssNa+ as specific marker and knowing the X/ss-Na+ weight/weight (w/w) ratios in sea-water. Then, I calculate non-sea salt fraction by subtracting sea salt contribution from total concentration of each ion. The problem is I found the result give negative value of non sea salt fraction (nssK, nssMg, nssCa, nssSO4, etc) for some samples. Is it possible that I get negative for non-sea salt fraction? If possible, what should I do to correct this? Thank you.
