hi all,

when I am doing a fracture toughness test on non crimp quadraxial glass composites, after calculation according to ASTM standards, I got Mode-II fracture toughness almost 3 times higher than Mode-I fracture toughness. Is it possible? I double-checked the calculations many times. It seems they are correct. Also, for the same type of composites, the mode-I fracture toughness of aged samples (in water for 30 days) is higher than the non-aged ones. Can anyone provide a possible reason for this?
