The answer depends on the type of blindness and what you mean by "see images." Researchers are working with implants to allow the blind to see using " retinal prosthetics." (https://www.technologyreview.com/s/608844/blind-patients-to-test-bionic-eye-brain-implants/) For people with severe sight impairment, but who are "legally blind" but not totally blind, there are "glasses" that enhance the image for the wearer.
According to the article from wired (link below), the computers will use the five "human senses" to improve our lives. Then, IMHO technology could be applied to humans, e.g. blind persons, to improve their lives.
