Professor Mohamed_El_Naschie is one of the top 10 scientists in the Middle East & North Africa. His contributions to physics are simply great & in important areas of this science. I heard about the man before RG but RG was very good in letting me to know more about him; the man is kind, humble, wise, polite, and ethical... the very attributes that every scientist ought to have.

I think that Nobel Prize Committee must have known about him but if this is not the case, professors of physics in Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and other parts in the world ought to work on his nomination. The concerned scientific community will be grateful for the professors if they do that.

Indeed Prof. El Nashie has a very interesting vitae of outstanding accomplishments in physics and in matters of concern his society in particular and the world at large need in order peace, order and liberty reign in humanity. His recent work that displays the root cause analysis and interpretation and gives light to the mass-energy formulation of matter made by Einstein is very interesting. I will therefore support  this idea and wish him the best of  luck. 

YES, I agree with the others.  And not just Prof Mohamed El Naschie.  What about Ijad Madisch and other profs on RG?  The fact that they are friendly and nice folks does not detract from their merit.

Gamal el-Ghitani, (Arabic: جمال الغيطانى‎ ]; 9 May 1945 – 18 October 2015) was an Egyptian author of historical and political novels and cultural and political commentaries and was the editor-in-chief of the literary periodical Akhbar Al-Adab ("Cultural News") till 2011.

Life and works

Gamal El-Ghitani was born to a poor family in the town of Guhayna, Sohag Governorate in Upper Egypt and moved with his family to Cairo as a child. He began writing at a young age and had his first short story published when he was only 14. He was originally trained to be a carpet designer and received his diploma in 1962. He continued to write on the side and was imprisoned from October 1966 through March 1967 for his critical commentary on the regime ofGamal Abd el-Nasser. In 1969 he switched careers and became a journalist for the Egyptian newspaper Akhbar El Yom ("The Day's News").

Since becoming a journalist, el-Ghitani has continued to write historical fiction, and many of his stories are set in Cairo. He has also maintained an active pen about many cultural and political topics, notably the level of censorship in modern-day Egypt. In an effort to help promote the Arab literary culture, he helped found the literary magazine "Gallery 68".

In 1980, he was awarded with the Egyptian National Prize for Literature, and in 1987, the French Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres. In 1985, he became editor-in-chief of Al Akhbar ("The News") and continued to be a contributing editor to Akhbar El-Yom's literary section. From 1993 to 2011, he was the editor-in-chief of Akhbar Al-Adab, one of Egypt's primary literary magazines.[1] In 2005, he won a French Award for translated literature "Laure Bataillon", one of the highest French awards to be bestowed upon non-French writers. He was entitled for this award due to his giant work "Kitâb al-Tagalliyyât" or "Book of Illuminations". In 2009, he was awarded the Sheikh Zayed Book Award for Ren, the award is worth about $200,000 and is one of the world's richest literary awards.

Gamal El-Ghitani was married to the Egyptian journalist Magda El-Guindy, editor-in-chief of Al-Ahram's children's magazine "Alaaeddin". He has a son, Mohammad, and a daughter, Magda. He died on 18 October 2015 at the El Galaa Hospital For Armed Forces Officers Families in Cairo.

I have seen that there is a lot of content in the answers concerning somehow (directly or indirectly) either the ethnicity or the geographical background of the respectable prof. Mohamed El Naschie. I must confess that I have not read the work of prof. El Naschie, so I wouldn't be able to have a fully substantiated opinion. Having said that, I would like to point out the case of another great professor: Stephen William Hawking. Although prof. Hawking is very well recognized and awarded, none of those awards is the Nobel Prize. The reason, as far as I was explained by a friend of mine, is that most of his work is mathematical/theoretical, and to be awarded the Nobel Prize it has to be something "that in the previous year contributed to 'the greatest benefit for mankind' " (as it is written in Alfred Nobel's last will). Albert Einstein, himself, did not receive the Nobel Prize out of relativity (special or general or even the formula for conversion of matter into energy); it was because of his contributions on the photoelectric effect (and if I am not mistaken, also because of his paper about the Brownian motion). So, can the honorable professor El Naschie be nominated? absolutely! but the Nobel committee seems to have criteria that says different. There are other prizes, though. Maybe the Abel medal, which in the past *has* awarded works concerning applied mathematics or theoretical physics, and their rule is quite open: anyone can submit nominations (with exception of the nominee himself), meaning that we all admirers of prof. El Naschie may write a letter to the Abel committee, right away.

I suppose that he won't get it since he is not part of the Western Hegemony.

They'll give a hasty name to the new semi-theory, and they'll propose a name from the ready dominant nomenclature, as usual. They didn't do that till now because they are searching for a person who will get the unanimity inside the dominant nomenclature.

Moahamed El Naschie, isn't part of the ready dominant western (J) nomenclature. He won't get the noble prise even if he gets out of his Arab Skin and Muslim Religion.
