In the cadre of a research project, I am sampling apples infested with Cydia pomonella to use the local population of C. pomonella in some specific tests. After the dissection of fruits, I found many of them are infested with larvae of another pest moth, see the photos of the larva, I'm not sure about the ID (maybe Grapholita molesta), do you have any idea about what can be the ID of this species? Or do you think is it better to wait until the adult emergence for identifying the male genitalia? Or I need to perform DNA barcoding test to confirm the ID? I would appreciate for your contribution. Thanks a lot in advance.
