I'm asking because, first of all, Newton's first law is not from Newton but from Galileo who already fully understood what the Law of Inertia was. Newton may have reformulated it in a more mathematical way, but Galileo's statement was correct.

Newton's second law is really from Newton... However, it is not a LAW but a DEFINITION of a force. In other words, the validity of the so-called "second law" relies only on the validity of the first one.

Finally, Newton's third law is not a law either, as it can be derived from the so-called "second law".

I think that it would be more proper to talk about "Newton's equations of motion".

Does this make sense?
