After many papers in damage detection based on natural frequency change or natural frequency measurement, in your opinion, is frequency-based damage detection feasible? Certainly, I don't think it can be a universal method. But I feel that it must have some superiority over other NDT methods in certain types of structures or materials or certain applications .etc. And these potentially applicable situations, if ever exist, are not well-defined yet.

Natural frequency based damage detection is possible. Using ANN can be helpful. However, it depends on the objectives and conditions for example:
- Global-level or local-level detection
- What kinds of structure: beams, 2D- frames, 3D-frames, etc.
