Does anyone have experience publishing with them? Or read their publications? I have been approached to edit a book for them and want to know if it will be worth my time. Thank you for your feedback!
Although it has been almost 2 decades since I lived in Oz, back then CSIRO had an excellent international reputation at that time, mostly for agricultural research, but also did a lot of work on native wildlife. I'm sure it's reputation hasn't diminished all that much since then, even though it's focus is probably still Australia-centric!
CSIRO is a research organization funded by the Australian government, so John is correct in that the research can be Australia-centric. But among its many many achievements, wifi was developed at the CSIRO.
CSIRO Publishing is its publishing arm and very much legitimate. They publish many of the Australian society journals and have a good book program.
