I am calculating the whistleblower policy disclosure score for 100 Listed firms in India. I took 31 questions under four categories and scored them 0, 1 & 2 on three-level
a) 2 points: If the company follows global best practices for that component
b) 1 point: If the company follows reasonable practices or meets the Indian standards
c) 0 point: If the company needs to improve in that area
Then I calculated the composite score.
A sample of the scoring procedure is attached as a file.
I conducted Cronbach's alfa and value is 0.5.
Is it acceptable?

No 0.5 value for Cronbach's alpha is not acceptable, try to remove some items from your questionnaire, which are less than values of 0.5 or 0.6.
