UV rays create Vitamin D and only type A UV light seems to be beneficial. But this too is harmful and causes skin cancer if exposed for long. Any lamps we use does not emit any UV rays and only visible rays are emitted. Hence they cannot activate any Vitamin-D.
Can you please provide me any article regarding spectrum of light in energy savor or lamp. I have to cite it in my PhD project. UVB rather than UVA is beneficial for vitamin D activation
I did this analysis to understand why Vitamin D3 is required for Calcium absorption and that is when I found this in the google search. Probably if you do a google search you would be able to see something related to this, which may be useful for using as reference.
