Is anyone doing intra-operative portal embolization with Histoacryl for 2-stage hepatectomy or ALPPS? After right portal clamping...
Yes, we are doing it in the first step of open surgery for colorectal metástases.
I´m not sure; you could ask the neurointensivism group.
I hope I have understood your question regarding our experience I think the technique of ALPPS should be used in the following situations:
1) intraoperative evaluation does not coincide with the preoperative staging.
I am convinced that the mortality and morbidity are too high intakes to indicate ALPPS as a routine technique.
I should note that in case the PVE is not effective you would think to associate the embolization the hepatic vein
Dear Tulio, my question was not about ALPPS indication.
It was if in the intraoperatory, as portal vein embolization has to be performed, you are doing this PVE with Histoacryl.
Thank you
Yes we do this only if the future liver remnant is inadequate .
There is always a risk for bile leak
Are increasing the costs of disasters in the affected countries.
