There are daunting times where writing is lofty and humans can use assistance. An example is in accreditation, grant or justification writing. When a student makes a research paper that is supposed to be their original work then NO, that plagiarism, with penalties up to and including expulsion.

However, humans are better at coming up with new ideas, understanding complex details, and making sure the research is important and ethical.
