We always say that we detect a single photon by a "click" response of an electron ( photodiode )! However, is this true for an existence of one photon? A single photon always indicates a very weak electromagnetic field but it doesn't mean that there is only one photon and can not be "divided" further! Photon is a non-local virtual particle and can not be physically counted. It locates everywhere unless you put a detector and receive a click, and then the photon immediately take a local meaning at the detector's position (this position is not the photon's position). This property also holds for the matter wave particles and hence we can understand quantum mechanics easily!
