I'm doing my undergrad psychology dissertation and had some problems with interpreting the MANCOVA output.
If I'm reading the output right, there are no significant differences between the conditions across all dependent variables when controlling for negative emotionality f(8,1) = 0.703, p = .733, Wilks' = .151, partial eta squared = .849. However, when looking at the "tests of between-subjects effects"-box, on the NegativeEmotionality section, significant effects are found on some of the dependent variables.
The question is, am I looking at the right things on the output, and should I report the significant findings on the individual dependent variables when controlling negative emotionality, even when overall findings were not significant?
Also, on the output, should I be looking at the condition (IV) section or the NegativeEmotionality (covariate) section?
All advice is very much appriciated, thank you.
