ordered structure is not a feature that would define solid solution. not in that direction anyway.

ordered means that its probably not amorphous and most likely crystalline, but solid solution has an range of chemical existence typically starting with pure component ..  inter-metallics is a intermediary phase and always has more or less constrained window of chemical composition which never touches pure component

thaugh intermetallic compounds has long range periodicity but it is not enough to define it as solid solution, its homogeneity becomes questionable.
