Few days ago, I was flying for a workshop and while I was sitting down inside the plane, this thought came to my mind. The aircraft is suspended in the sky and people are concerned what happens if there is any issue with the aircraft. I then recalled that the planet earth is also suspended and is moving (not on a spot) but people live their lives as if this earth is rigid and is sitting down somewhere. What do you think is responsible for this?
I'd say experience. In the news, we see airplanes crashing quite regularly. Flying does not come naturally to men. But we (most of us) have no experience of planets crashing into other planets or into the sun or meteors reaching the earth' surface. So a basic risk assessment may show that it is safer on planet earth. Of course, this depends on the precise location on planet earth and on the circumstances.
The planet Earth is lying a magnetic field as if it were a protective nestle. The plane suffers gravitational force action and tend to go down unwillingly. Therefore, the planet Earth is completely safer.
I agree with you Ingo Riess. I also believe that many people are not even aware (do not believe science) that the earth is moving (not fixed) and that there are many other things going on around the earth (outside). Even scientists are still discovering planets up till date. How then can we be sure that there has not been any collision (or crashing) of some sought of things on some planets. Again, crashing is not only external, could be internal as well. How are we sure that we are not causing many damages on this planet earth due to exploration and technology that can make earth unsafe for people in it.
I am more afraid in plane and water then any place, I don't even know why
