Could someone share experience on the assay of Rat MCP-1 (Monocyte chemoattractant protein 1, also known as Chemokine Ligand 2 – a cytokine) in plasma/serum of rats using the RayBio MCP-1 ELISA kit. The manufacturers of the kit (RayBiotech Inc.) suggested a 500 to 10,000 fold dilution of the plasma/serum, and further stated that an investigator should determine the optimal dilution for his/her assay. Incidentally the contents of the test kit can only barely run the 12 strips of 8 wells (96 wells), and trying out varied dilutions across this wide range will almost use up our kit.

I will appreciate obtaining information on optimal dilutions commonly used by researchers who have experienced assaying for Rat MCP-1 using RayBiotech ELISA kit.
