I am looking for some innovative ideas for my PhD dissertation.
My field: Irrigation Engineering
I am interested to do research in Subsurface Drip Irrigation (SDI) as there haven't been many papers in SDI in the aspect of USA.. I would be very grateful if the reader could mention some unexplored areas in SDI (I have some ideas in mind, but, may be not strong enough to be a PhD paper in my university).

Excellent idea to work on SDI ,but try to integrate with nutrients as well to have in-depth investigation on fertigation , their scheduling, their dynamics in soil, their impact on microbial load, in addition to WUE and NYE..

Simon, I think , you further add liquid formulation of microbial consortium with SDI fertigation, very little or no effort has so far been made in this direction..
Thank you, I am certainly keeping these ideas in my list. I just started for PhD, so, I should have some time before I start on a paper. These ideas will help me a lot.
