A uncommon finding in the posterior cranial fossa was present during autopsy of the 37 year old male with alleged history of road traffic accident. No significant past medical history.
In the squamous part of the occipital bone, on either side of the internal occipital crest multiple grooves present. Could that be due to the some pathology or normal anatomical variant? Does it has any significance.

In my view it could be an intraosseous cavernous hemangioma eroding the inner table.

@ Maria Alvarez, In this case hemangioma can be ruled out, as the meninges were unremarkable and all the sinus and vessels in cranial fossa were intact without any variants.
