The government has a duty to provide free public education. In general people do not look favorably at government run programs especially in the United States. Thus depending upon which party is in power public schools and programs are favored or disfavored. Certain elite classes of people prefer that since the government collects taxes from the citizens, citizens should be given vouchers with which their children can go to private schools paying a lot of money. There is also the perception that private organizations are better than public institutions which may or may not be true. If a school meets the comptency requirements laid out for the student then it has met its goal.
State is more superior than a private organisation/person therefore state can run the education system on national scale more better. Private organisation first sees its profit and treat like a business.
Education in private schools nowadays is much better than government schools in terms of administration and the quality of education. This fact may vary from one school to anothet.
I disagree Hazim. Private schools are money sucking machines here in Pakistan. Only a very few private schools that are giving quality education cannot be national level symbol.
Either of One which is Providing the Best Quality Education to the Students. Mostly Private Schools provides the Best Quality Education because the Accountability is very Strict for Administration And Teachers there.... Regards
Ijaz Ahmad , What Dr. Hazim Al Dilaimy meant, no doubt, is true issue in my country, so I think that what Dr. Farangis Shahidzade and Dr. Houda Kawas have pointed out to, summarized this idea. In some countries consider it a way to make money, so I agree with you at this point.
It depends on the curriculum, and the way of conduction of it. In Iraq the governmental schools are crowded, the curriculum is old, the methods of conduction do not meet the criteria of advanced, and resent methodology. as well not all the teaching staffs are well qualified.
In the U.S. private schools are expensive but provide a better education than most public schools but non-seregated public schools generally provide a better opportunity for social integration of the student population than private schools.
Dwight Hoxie , I agree with you, but there are many schools like University of Washington and UCLA ....ect , which are government institutions, but are considered one of the best centers of education in the world. thanks for your reply.
It depends on the level of the school (primary, secondary, seminary, university), the location, the quality of the local government, and (in the case of primary and secondary school) how involved the parents can be (or want to be) in the process.
With some very clear exceptions, in the US generally private schools are superior for children but public schools are often better for high school and university. There are some excellent private universities here (i.e. Stanford, MIT, Harvard) but there are many, many very low quality and even predatory private universities and colleges here. At least public universities are somewhat standardized in quality and have generally competent faculty because of the local/state government involvement and accreditation process.
