Dear Dr. Philippot, This scientific project is important in agronomy, too I could be instructive for fallows, mediterranean-garrigue macchia and forest. As associated scientific at I.N.R.A., I would  like to follow your research program, my  work being in mediterranean field of Provence. I identifiyng insects living on soil or into litter and the two first soil "horizons". As you know many Diptera-Brachycerous species have litter or underground larvae, so as some small coleopterous adults. Soils lie frequently upon calcareous (or volcanic) rock. From time to time I obtain one adult of hymenopterous-parasitoid species from underground insect (for instance Chalcidoidea Eulophidae parasitising larvae of Thysanoptera).
