How lustrous or shiny is the surface of the WC-Co specimen? Optical microscope requires a large degree of lustre for capturing the grain boundaries with high magnification.

You may use the Murakami's reagent (10 g KOH or NaOH, 10 g potassium ferricyanide, 100 mL water) to reveal the microstructural features of WC-Co cermets.
