You can try a sieve wash for Charophytes and Ostracodes, they are very good biostratigraphic markers, especially as they are found in marginal/lagoon environments.

You can also look for carbonate intercalations somewhere in the basin, that could give you something.

You can use palyonological indicators, Charophyts and also ostracods, In addition to isotopic methods.
