Do you require repeat measurements, or is once-off of any interest?

The trouble is that 'borrowed' data can be analysed identically by different researchers and produce conflicting published results, becoming embarrassing for authors and potentially resulting in litigation. At the very least, make sure you obtain copyright before using other people's data, otherwise stay away from it :)

Thanks for all these replies! Yes once-off data are OK. We only need a minimum of 1 or 2 years of data in order to analyze the seasonal changes in SM. I'll check data in India.

Hi, for your information - check out our SoMo.ml data https://doi.org/10.1038/s41597-021-00964-1 it is not in-situ data, but we spatially and temporally extrapolate in-situ data using machine learning to produce a global scale dataset (available from 2000). The dataset in netcdf is freely available at https://www.bgc-jena.mpg.de/geodb/projects/Home.php
