This is my personal experience,
Some professors do not willing to give any (few) opportunities to a researcher from a low ranked universities. Usually, they are asking for a good CV, but when you are checking CV of their students, mostly the academic qualification of them are similar to young and junior researcher of other countries or universities!
Coming originally from a highly ranked university with honors, I never had any difficulty in accepting colleagues from lesser ranked universities. It was more of evaluating an individual contribution to the research, building a team, and developing careers, looking forward instead of backward.
I have observed a few other researchers from highly rated universities, not the best researchers, down rating people from lesser universities.
unfortunately, it is true it happens most time to judge people subjectively i think good researcher is good regardless to the university he or she graduated from, iit depends on him/herself rather than his/her previous university

Yes, I am very sure of them because they are simply because they have not yet reached the so-called educational plateau where professors in old universities feel that they have reached the knowledge level, then as result thier (high ranked professors) scientific efforts will be less than expected
I accept all subordinates with open heart. If they have reached to my university then they are trustworthyworth.
