Neurofeedback has proven to be more effective than psychostimulants, mainly in the long term. You can find information on articles of Monastra et al. 2002 and 2005. Also, there is a more recent meta-analysis that compares 3 groups: NFB, psychostimulants and NFB+psychostimulants, they concluded that when using only psychostimulants, symptoms return.

I think it's very important to add behavioral methods (for the child and their parents) at home and school directed at the child develop self-control and motivation.
