Dear all,

I am currently working on the gut content of diverse fish species and found this larvae in a Ameiurus melas stomach. I know so far about the following fish species in the pond:

Ameiurus melas

Lepomis gibbosus

Abramis brama

Squalius cephalus

Carassius carassius

Cyprinus carpio

Pseudorasbora parva

Rutilus rutilus

Gambusia holbrooki or affinis

The samples were collected in July, and I wondered if anybody in this community knew about:

a) an identification key for fish larvae concerning mentioned species?

b) could say with a certainty that a larvae of that size in that time of the year can be linked to a mentioned species or not.

c) if it is even possible to identify a fish larvae in a pond with mentioned species.

Thank you all in advance!
