If you keep the samples in closed jars/bottles there is no need to change the solution

It depends on what you will do with them. If you need to section them for microscopy then you should transfer them to ethanol after two or three days as the FAA will continue to fix the tissues, eventually resulting in a sample that is so brittle that it will be difficult to cut cleanly.
