You can get multiple research paper on EV but the major problem is battery charging system, after covering or 150 -170 km (range depend upon battery backup) battery get discharged. So I suggest you go to research on battery charging system.
Start you can choose multi phase machine . These machines can be utilized for generation and drives purpose. Multi phase generation system have many advantages. You can also see my recent publication on six phase doubly fed induction generator.
