Doctors who cannot interpret ECG of patients with Chest pain are sending ECG on Whats app to me for consultation. I reply immediately and the patients get benefited. Is this okay?
Well, in my opinion, it doesn't matter. Nowadays, everything changes. The way we communicate also has changed too. I think it was a brilliant idea to communicate with your client with whats app. Because its the fastest platform to send your answer to the doctor. And the doctor, also okay to to reply immediately about the ECG results to the patient. Of course, the patient itself got the benefit. So its okay, because you've just chosen the fastest way to communicate.
But, dr Vivek, my answer was from the patient's point of view. I dont work in medical world, so it was just my PERSONAL OPINION. I don't know exactly if from the doctor's point of view. I think the doctor itself has to follow the Medical Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
@Deasy, actually this is still a grey area. We don't have SOP'S for tele ecg consultation by a doctor from another doctor. I feel it is Okay to consult using Whatsapp provided you don't post patient details in the groups.
