I have downloaded GPM IMERG half hourly late run data for 31 days. I have 1488 datasets. Each file consists of 9 subdatasets. I need to retrieve half hourly gridded rainfall from those files for 31 days. Somebody please help me to retrieve the information through batch processing.
I think you can use matlab or C to write a routine to process a lot of data automatically. You can firstly write all the file names in a txt file. Then in matlab you can use "for" circle to batch process each file listed in the txt file.

You mean to get daily product using orbit product? Maybe you can get instruction from the description of daily product in GPM or TRMM user databook. You can get the definition of daily product. I think daily product should be gridded product. Project orbit products into the grids you defined.
Arun - The approach depends on how familiar you are with programming (C, FORTRAN) or using applications (MATLAB, Panoply). Have you looked at the data access page on pmm.nasa.gov? Click the "get data" button on the main page, then click the GPM data hot link. It opens to IMERG by default. This includes hot links to the documentation and all the different formats of IMERG that are provided by NASA/GSFC archives.
A second choice is to peruse the Data Cookbook provided by the GES DISC data archive to see whether there is an item describing what you want to do. Click on "data cookbook" on the http://disc.sci.gsfc.nasa.gov main page.
Third, depending on what you want to do, the GES DISC Giovannni interactive analysis site, http://giovanni.sci.gsfc.nasa.gov/giovanni/, might do what you need to do. For example, it will do timeseries of averages over defined areas, countries and watersheds, which are collectively called "shapefiles".
