i need a definition that describes each term clearly and separately from the other . Gifted ( who gets high marks in school subjects and examinations - talented ( who is talented in arts, sports and literature ).They are different but still combined in one definition.

Talented students have the potential to achieve at high levels, some may not have yet realized or demonstrated that potential. Such students may be underachievers, twice exceptional, or represent underserved groups who have not had a nurturing environment to bring out those talents. Finally, this definition is a comparative one; these students achieve or have the potential to achieve at levels way above their peers.
Thank you all for enriching the topic with such answers and i appreciate what i got from that. What is confusing is that educators and some researchers are not splitting the definition of the gifted from the talented while each of them really needs its own definition in order to deal properly with them.
Gifted is normally interpreted as someone with high ability to learn and performs excellently in tests without producing or creating or changing anything , but talented who is mostly categorized as an underachiever in education or what is concerned with memorizing and who is the weak performer in tests is the one who produces creative ideas and higher performances in different areas in life , so how can we combine them in one definition ? How can education nurture their needs and support their different potentials if they are defined by the same definition ?
