I have two google scholar accounts through my both mails, personal gmail and university's mail. so I was wondering if I can merge them or connect them!
Old profile still there, gets updates but lags behind the new profile that Google created without ever asking me. Also, it pops up when I log in under my secondary google account. It is not possible to choose which google scholar profile is associated with a given google account, and no google help to be found anywhere. Seems google is not capable or not willing (or both) to address this issue. Scientists change employers just as google employees do, and it seems a new profile gets created each time. Cynical negligence for a search engine that wants to be a reference.
instead of deleting the unnecessary account , just update the email address of the chosen account to be a university email and then delete the other account
The best way is to delete your gmail account, So you will not be able to use it for google scholar account. After that you can recover your gmail address again.
You can find answer for your question in the following link.
Try to edit your original account that you need to keep. e.g. change your affiliation., then you will be asked for a new e-mail address. Enter your e-mail that belongs to the account that you do not like to keep. A message will be sent this e-mail to verify it. After verification, these two accounts will be merged. I think this would be the best and simplest procedure.
Same problem here. I have two google scholar account associated with same email id. if i delete one, both deleted. secondly the edit profile option is available with one only scholar account. bit frustrating, how to get rid of it.
@Vinod, try to log into the GS profile u want to delete... Verify with gmail... And then try to delete the GS profile...***(Keep the other GS profile verified with institution email, the one you want to keep intact).
I have two google scholar accounts through my both mails, personal gmail and university's mail. so I was to delete my account google mail because it is merge to other person google scholar account
First, delete history of ur browser and log in using gmail THEN log in to ur google scholar profile (this is the profile u want to delete) and delete ur google scholar profile.
Again, delete history of browser and log in using institutional email and loh in to ur google scholar profile, the GS account you want to keep...
Or do the opposite and then verify GS account u want to keep with ur institutional email ..
I have this problem. I have two gmail accounts. Each has its own Scholar account. I want to merge them both so that my citations are unified. As I have different citations on both accounts. Can someone help?
