I have collected data and testing of moderation is done ie age which is not coming as a moderator with .456 as a p value . some studies have shown age as not moderating relation , what should be the hypothesis for this ? Kindly suggest suitable solution .
It would have been good sharing your model to give our judgement. However, how do you include age in to the model? as continuous variable or a discreet variable? what are the nature of the other variables? you need to check this first. if it is a continuous variable, you may need to transfer in to ln(age), so that it will be compatible to the remaining data. However, not being significant will not be a good justification to remove age from its moderation effect from you model. Rather reject your hypothesis.
Eshetie Berhan , My other variable is measured in the likert scale and ages are in 18-24, 25 to 40, 41-50, 51 -60 ( A generation Cohort), pls suggest how to move further. Thanks for responding.
I recommend just working with the basic model, but reporting in the text that you assessed age as a moderator and found it to be insignificant.
