I have prepared QDs using the chemical reduction method using a PVP as a capping agent . I coated the QDs on top of the silica substrate and took XRD. The bare polymer XRD has a broad peak up to 25 degree, but I got multiple narrow peaks in the PVP-coated QDs in the same region.

Those are all not the characteristic peaks of the respective quantum dots.
