I have been working in Deaf Education of Ukraine for several decades. At present I am in charge of the Students with Disabilities Services at the Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv. I would like to help deaf students with enrolling and even set special inclusive groups at the university however the level of literacy of the Deaf schools graduates is too low due to the oral method which Deaf education inherited from the Soviet Union. I have been running annual Deaf camps in Ukraine since 2000 involving 6 to 10 special schools every year. Most attention has been paid to the Ukrainian Sign Languge which used to be prohibited in Deaf Education. Now it is legal according to the new Law on Ukrainian Language (2019). We need European experience and funding to catch up with the rest of the world

Dear Dr. Kobel, what you are doing is a great effort to support the deaf overcome the challenges to be educated. In my country, Algeria, the deaf education and the status of the Algerian Sign Language is even worse! The deaf and hard of hearing pupils can barely join primary school. Let alone to have the chance to be enrolled at universities. They don't have access to education as equal as their hearing peers. Hence, the are illiterate and remain manual workers; they are marginalized in Algeria.
I revealed many facts about the Teaching of Sign Language and the education of deaf children in my village, Adar, in Algeria.
