The topic you are researching into is interesting nd would offer great insights to historians across the globe, especially, those who specializes in Oriental history. As a cultural anthropologist and historian, I have noticed that the cultural dispositions of Japan and Korea share remarkable similarities since historically, the Japanese has influenced the Koreans in significant ways. However, there are stunning differences historically in the rights granted to Japanese and Korean women to participate in societal affairs such as work and governance. Also, the comfort women saga from the World war II in Japan somehow influenced the Koreans and as such suppression in terms of sexual behaviours abounded. I have seen scholars attempt comparing the culture of China to Korea in terms of sexual suppression and gender issues related to work. An example is Vivien Ng, Sexuality, Gender and Social Scripting in Japan and China. A comparision of Korea and Japan in this same terms would be fruitful.

Thank you so much for your response. I will download and review all of the information you provide. The gender issues you raise are compelling and it is hard to convince people of the simple fact that everyone has a mother and a father and no ones form should be used against them. Is there really any excuse for exploitation?
