I am Looking for some ideas on a research problem in the area of development economics, especially in the area of higher education as I am planning to pursue a PhD programme in that field.
Dear Bertha Njembo : If you wont to make a thesis PhD on education, you must read many articles about the effect of human capital on economic development, and the link between labor education and economic growth or development.......etc .
You need to read plenty of research papers published in quality academic journals which you can find through Google Scholar. Get the research gaps from these papers, especially the recent ones, so that you can select the gap that has not been covered so far. Notice that for PhD thesis you need to come up with a contribution (called PhD contribution) in order to be accepted by your school supervisors and examiners.
