I am completing a study of 8 - 12 year old children. Since children are considered a vulnerable population, I am seeking to have their emotional intelligence assessed by a parent or caregiver.
To know yourself and others is a long advanced process. I do not believe in emotional intelligence because it could also mean that you have the capacity to manipulate other persons, which would not benefit the group per se.
However the same question was asked by Fatima zahra Salhi
4 years ago here on RG and Sergio Agnoli answered as follows:
A very reliable EI self-report measure is the TEIQue-CF (children form) by Petrides. In a recently published paper, we used it on more than 500 children with an age range similar to the one you indicated. The MSCEIT CF needs a dedicated validation for developing the norms (criteria) for your country (and it is more cognitively demanding). While an emotion recognition task, LEAS-C (emotional awareness), and other methods, measure isolated emotional abilities or skills, TEIQue allows to obtain both an overall measure of the EI and a measure of EI sub-dimensions.
is there a way i can get the norm sheet, which includes the reliability, validity and scoring for the domains of TEIQue-CF (children form). its really urgent.
